Meeting Notes

Member in Attendance: Ron Chordas, Kathlynn Feld, Jimmy Myers, Frank Bosso, Dan O’Connell, Terry Fullum, Phil Ginnetti, Elaine Jacobs

    For Operating Principle 3.1, Self Study Item 8, the committee reviewed documentation and minutes from various campus groups and agreed that the plan for addressing gender-equity issues for the future was developed through a process involving broad-based participation and received institutional approval.

   For Operating Principle 3.2, Self Study Item 1, the committee agreed with YSU’s response to the NCAA’s request for a Minority Plan that projects five years into the future.

   For Operating Principle 3.2, Self Study Item 2, the committee reviewed all plans and actions taken in the 1999-2002 Intercollegiate Athletics Minority Opportunity Plan. The committee agreed that all steps in the original plan were taken in the timelines established and implemented to the fullest extent possible. It was noted that the numerical targets that were in the original plan were not required to be achieved.

   The next meeting is scheduled for December 1, 2005 at 11 a.m. in the Provost’s Conference Room.
