Meeting Notes

Present: Cyndy Anderson, Ken Brayer, Elaine Jacobs, Jane Kestner, Janelle McDonald, Jimmy Myers, Scott Schulick, David Sweet, Paul Walker

The meeting began at 2:02 p.m.

The Academic Integrity and Governance and Commitment to Rules Compliance sections of the Self Study were approved by the Steering Committee.

Elaine Jacobs provided a draft of the Student-Athlete Equity and Welfare section.  The subcommittee met eight times during fall and spring semesters and completed review of all self study items in the three Operating Principles. Elaine guided the Steering Committee through each of the three operating principles and related tables. The Steering Committee is asked to thoroughly review the Equity section and provide any input to the final draft by Monday, February 27.

All three subcommittee chairs (Chordas, Kestner, Maraffa) are to be commended for their leadership, effectiveness, and time management in completing the self study well in advance of the May 15 deadline. An update of the progress of the Self Study will be presented at the March 2 Board of Trustees Internal Affairs meeting. In addition, Jane Kestner will provide updates to the Academic Senate in March or April.
