Athletics: YSU Video Coordinator Shawn Coin Passes Away

    Youngstown -- Shawn Coin, who served as the Youngstown State Athletic Department's Video Coordinator, died on Monday, August 18. Coin was 31 years old.
    Coin was starting his third year with the Athletic Department where he helped coordinate the department’s entire video production efforts. One of his primary duties was to assist the football program throughout the year in their video and scouting efforts.
    A former assistant football coach and video coordinator at California University (Pa.) and Northern Michigan University, he joined YSU in August 2006.
    Prior to coming to Youngstown State, he spent two years at California as the video co-coordinator and an offensive assistant. He was also a video assistant, assistant strength and conditioning coordinator and assistant defensive backs coach for a year his alma mater, Northern Michigan.
    He is survived by his wife Jennifer. Arrangements have not been completed; however, as soon as this information is available it will be provided.
