Football: Penguins Establish Four Strength Records
Youngstown -- As the Youngstown State football team
wrapped up pre-Spring strength and
conditioning workouts, four Penguins
Strength records fell during the
March 3-6 testing period. Senior
center Nick Roberts and senior
tailbacks Josiah Doby and Mike Burns
combined to break the marks.
Nick Roberts set the offensive line record of 655 pounds in
the parallel squat, eclipsing the
previous mark of 650 pounds set by
Todd Kollar.
Doby broke two position strength records bettering the marks
in the parallel squat and the
incline press. Doby's squat of 545
pounds broke the position record of
540 pounds held by Tamron Smith.
Doby also set the incline press mark
with a lift of 345 besting the
record of 335 held by Adrian Brown.
Burns broke the running backs position record in the power
clean with a lift of 295 pounds. The
previous mark was held by Adrian
Brown, who had a lift of 290 pounds. |
