Football: Six Penguins Earn All-Gateway Honors
St. Louis -- The Youngstown State football team placed
three individuals on the Gateway
Football Conference's second-team
and had three members named
honorable-mention, the league
released on Wednesday.
Being selected to the second team were junior tight end Mike
Roberts, senior offensive tackle
Josh Davis and junior strong safety
Mike Bracken. Senior offensive
lineman Will Sanders, senior
cornerback Waymann Peters and junior
placekicker Nick Terracina were
tabbed league honorable-mention.
Roberts tied for the team lead with 29 interceptions last
season, while Davis started every
game at offensive tackle. Bracken
tied for second on the team with 86
total tackles and led the Penguins
with 9.5 tackles for losses.
Peters had the team lead with four interceptions, including
one for a touchdown against Liberty.
He finished the year with 57 total
tackles and four pass breakups.
Terracina converted 13-of-17
field-goal attempts while making
29-of-30 point-after kicks. Sanders
played in all 12 games and showed
his versatility playing all three
offensive line positions at some
point throughout the year. |
