Football: Annual Player Awards Presented At Banquet
    Youngstown -- Seniors took home eight of 10 individual awards that were presented at the Youngstown State football team's Annual Football Awards Banquet in the Kilcawley Center on the YSU campus on Saturday afternoon.
    Senior offensive tackle Josh Davis was named the Outstanding Offensive Player while senior cornerback Waymann Peters was selected as the Outstanding Defensive Player. Senior cornerback Sherod Holmes was named the John Delserone YSU Most Valuable Player for his 2003 efforts.
    Earning recognition for their off-the-field efforts as well as their on-field success were senior free safety Scott Thiessen as the Robert Frost Outreach Man of the Year, senior linebacker Justin Dellarose was the Ron Stoops Most Inspirational Player and senior fullback Chris DiMauro was the Dr. Spurgeon Torchbearer Award winner.
    Senior offensive lineman Will Sanders was named the Jim Zdelar Offensive Lineman of the Year while senior defensive tackle Steve Durbin was honored as the Jermaine Hopkins Defensive Lineman of the Year.
    The only two non-seniors to earn awards were junior placekicker Nick Terracina who was named the Paul McFadden/Jeff Wilkins Specialist of the Year and sophomore offensive guard Matt Brouse who was the Four Square Academic Player of the Year.
    Also at Saturday's banquet, sophomore tailback Josh Cayson and junior strong safety Mike Bracken were named the Four Square Offensive and Defensive Players of the Game for their early-season performances against Slippery Rock.
