Football: Award Winners Announced for Florida Atlantic Game
Youngstown -- Senior tailback Josiah Doby, junior strong
safety Mike Bracken and junior
placekicker Nick Terracina were
tabbed the Youngstown State football
team's players of the game against
Florida Atlantic, the coaching staff
announced on Tuesday.
Doby was named the team's offensive player of the game. He
returned to action for the first
time this season rushing for 59
yards on eight carries. Bracken, the
defensive player of the game,
finished the contest with a season
and team-high 11 tackles. Terracina,
the special teams player of the
game, kicked field goals of 41 and
37 yards accounting for all six YSU
points.
For the second time this season, tight end Mike Roberts was
named the Jim Zdelar Offensive
Lineman of the Game while sophomore
Brandon Brown was the Jermaine
Hopkins Defensive Lineman of the
Game.
Earning scout-team accolades were senior quarterback Luis
Gonzalez (offense), freshman
cornerback Bob Perez (defense) and
sophomore defensive tackle Chris
Rice (special teams).
Senior fullback Chris DiMauro earned the Derek Pixley Wash on
Wheels Hit of the Game.
Sophomore linebacker Mike Andrews was named the Haines Family
Player of the Game by the YSU radio
broadcast crew.
The Penguins are back in action on Saturday when they travel
to Liberty. The game will be
nationally-televised by The Football
