Football: Penguins Announce Southern Illinois Award Winners
    Youngstown -- Sophomore quarterback Aaron Marshall, senior cornerback Sherod Holmes and redshirt freshman punter Joe Bishop were named YSU's unit Players of the Game against Southern Illinois, the coaching staff announced on Tuesday.
    Marshall completed 14-of-32 passes for 183 yards to be named the MVR Offensive Player of the Game. Holmes finished with three tackles and left the game because of injuries twice only to return each time to earn Defensive Player-of-the-Game honors. Bishop averaged 35.6 yards on five punts and was named the Special Teams Player of the Game.
    Senior offensive tackle Josh Davis was tabbed the Jim Zdelar Offensive Lineman of the Game while redshirt freshman linebacker Marty Hutchinson, who returned an interception 15 yards for a touchdown, was the Jermaine Hopkins Defensive Lineman of the Game.
    Freshman offensive lineman Bryant Wilson (offense), freshman cornerback Willie Williams (defense) and freshman fullback Joe Nicholson (special teams) were named Scout Team Players of the Week.
    Junior strong safety Mike Bracken earned the W.O.W./Derek Pixley Hit of the Week and senior offensive lineman Will Sanders was the Haines Family Player of the Game as chosen by the YSU radio crew.
