Football: Codera Jackson Named Second-Team All-American

cornerback Codera Jackson
(Rochester, N.Y.) was named a
second-team All-American by The
Sports Network, the service
announced on Monday.
Jackson, who was one of six Gateway Football Conference
players named to one of The Sports
Network's six All-America squads,
finished the year with six
interceptions tying for the fourth
most in Division I-AA. His average
of 0.55 picks per contest was tied
for fifth best in I-AA.
A first-team All-Gateway and All-Newcomer Team selection,
Jackson was credited with 50 total
tackles, including 32 solo stops. He
also had four pass breakups and a
forced fumble. Of his six
interceptions, he had 103 yards in
returns, including a 72-yarder for a
touchdown at Liberty.
Jackson transferred to YSU from Alfred State College before
the fall and made an instant impact
starting all 11 games in 2005. In
2004, he was an honorable-mention
NJCAA All-American. |
