Football: Dan Kopp
Named Director of Football
Operations

Heacock announced on Monday that Dan
Kopp, a Youngstown native, has
joined the football program as the
Director of Football Operations.
Kopp previously worked
within the YSU Athletic Department as a student equipment manager. He now
assumes the Director of Football
Operations position assisting with
team travel, recruiting visits,
academic oversight and various other
duties within the program.
Prior to stepping into the new role, Kopp spent
the past year as an account executive for the Mahoning Valley Thunder,
Youngstown’s Arena2 Football League franchise.
For the Thunder, Kopp helped generate corporate partnerships,
season-ticket and individual ticket sales. In 2007, the front office earned the
af2’s President’s Award for Best Overall Team Operations.
A 1995 graduate of YSU, Kopp’s father John has more than 35
years coaches at several high schools in the Valley. Dan spent two years
coaching freshmen football at Fitch High School before moving into his position
with the Thunder.
He also brings business experience having worked at First
Place Bank for eight years as a Branch Manager/Loan Originator. More recently,
he was as a substitute teacher in Austintown Local Schools.
Kopp graduated from Boardman High School in 1990 where he was
a two-year letterwinner for the Spartans football team. |
