Football: Middleweight Boxing Champion Kelly Pavlik Speaks to Guins Following Practice

Youngstown – The Youngstown State football team received a post-practice pep talk on Thursday afternoon from WBC/WBO Middleweight Boxing Champion and Youngstown native Kelly Pavlik.

Pavlik visited with the team on the field following their workout at Stambaugh Stadium. The Champ posed for pictures with the Penguins who engulfed him and put their fists up.

He told the Penguins, who are coming off an emotional 24-17 Gateway loss at Southern Illinois last week, to play every play like it's their last as they prepare for Saturday's home game against Southern Utah.

Pavlik earned the WBC/WBO Middleweight by knocking out Jermain Taylor on Saturday, Sept. 29.
