HBK Players of the Game at ISU
Youngstown – Junior
quarterback Brandon Summers and
freshman quarterback Marc Kanetsky
were named the Hill Barth & King
Players of the Game for their
performances against Illinois State.
Summers was named the Hill Barth &
King Offensive Player of the Game
after tying a school record with
four touchdowns passes. Summers had
scoring throws of six,
28, 32 and 67 yards in the contest.
He threw for a career-high 347 yards
completing 20-of-34 passes. His 347
yards
ranks as the
fourth-highest single-game passing
performance in school history and is
the most since Sept. 10, 1983 (369
by Jamie DeVore against Eastern
Kentucky). He is the first Guin to
throw four touchdown passes in a

2005. It was his second 300-yard
passing game of the season (334 vs.
Liberty).
No Hill Barth & King Defensive
Player of the Game or Jermaine
Hopkins Defensive Lineman of the
Game was selected.
Kanetsky was named the Hill Barth &
King Special Teams Player of the
Game. Kanetsky, a reserve
quarterback, did an outstanding job
on placements for senior placekicker
Brian Palmer throughout the
afternoon.
Senior offensive tackle Tyler Booth
was selected as the Jim Zdelar
Offensive Lineman of the Game. Booth
and the rest of the line paved the
way for a 544-yard performance by
the offense -- the best by the unit
since 2005.
Earning scout team honors for their
performances during the week are
senior fullback Charles Gresham
(offense), freshman defensive tackle
Warren Felton (defense) and freshman
safety David Fleming (special
teams).
Summers was the recipient of the
Haines Family Player of the Game as
chosen by the YSU radio broadcast
crew of Robb Schmidt, Dick Hartzell,
Trevor Parks and Mike Orto.

Jones had an outstanding game
catching four passes for a
career-best 136 yards.

in the secondary on Saturday, owns a
3.92 grade-point average as a
biology/pre-med major.
