Football: 36th Annual Red-White
Spring Game Set For Friday Night
Youngstown –
The Youngstown State football team
will play their 36th annual
Red-White Spring Game on Friday
night at Stambaugh Stadium. Kickoff
for the contest is 7:30 p.m.
Admission is $5.
Clear Channel Radio will air the game live on 570 WKBN
beginning with the pre-game show at
7:15 p.m.
On the 570 WKBN broadcast, Bob Hannon and Dick Hartzell
will have the live call of the game
from the Watson Media Center while
Dave Sess will join the duo from the
sidelines down below. Sess will talk
with Coach Jon Heacock before and
after the game as well as at
halftime.
Tickets can be purchased
in advance or at the Stadium on
Friday. The YSU ticket office opens
at 9 a.m. on Friday.
Will call will also be located in
the ticket office for the contest.
The game will feature two 30-minute halves with a five-minute
halftime between the periods. The
final two minutes of the game will
be played under normal game
conditions. Also, all special teams
will be utilized during the contest
and the 40- and 25-second clocks will be in
effect throughout the evening. Each
team will receive their game plans
for the contest game
day. The Red Team will wear red
jerseys and red pants while the
White Team will be dressed in white
jerseys and black pants.
All seating for the game is general
admission and will be in the West
stands. The East side will be closed
on Friday night. The gates open 90
minutes before kickoff.
Parking will be available in all lots around the stadium.
Handicapped parking will be the F-2
lot located across from the Andrews
Wellness and Recreation Center. Loge
holders should have their permits
and will be allowed to park in the
F-7 Lot. Media and gameday
staff parking will be in the M-27
South lot located across Fifth
Avenue from the Stadium. Marked
media vehicles will be allowed to
park on Stadium Drive between
Stambaugh and the Beeghly Center.
As always, no umbrellas, big bags, coolers or cans are
permitted in the Stadium.
There are various events being held in conjunction with the
game. The YSU Football Alumni will
be having a dinner in the DeBartolo
Stadium Club beginning at 6 p.m.
while the YSU Alumni office is
holding a buffet dinner in Stambaugh
Stadium's Gym C at
6 p.m. |
