Football:
Squad Gears Up For Spring Jersey
Scrimmage
Youngstown – The
Youngstown State football team revs
up Spring Drills on Saturday morning
with their Red-White Jersey
Scrimmage at Stambaugh Stadium. The
scrimmage is set to start at 9:45
a.m. The event is free and open to
the public.
So far this spring, YSU has had 10
practices and the offense has
already taken the Red jerseys from
the defense. The defense opened
spring camp wearing the Reds before
the offense earned them by winning a
30-play scrimmage on April 4.
The Penguins conclude Spring Drills
next Friday at 7:30 p.m. with the
annual Red-White Spring Game.
The contest concludes a busy week
for the program. On Tuesday, seniors
and Coach Jon Heacock will attend
the Bob Dove Spring Game Luncheon at
noon in the DeBartolo Stadium Club.
On Thursday, the senior players will take part in the annual
Spaghetti Dinner at Mr. Anthony's in
Boardman. The seniors will dine with
the members of the Football Alumni
Club. Next Friday afternoon, the
Football Alumni Club holds its
annual golf outing at Oak Tree
Country Club in West Middlesex, Pa.
