HIGH SCHOOL: A three-year,
two-way starter at Reedsville High School...as a senior, was a
first-team All-Manitowoc County selection as an offensive lineman
and defensive lineman...was a first-team All-Olympian Conference
selection on the offensive line and defensive line...selected to
participate in the state’s Shrine Bowl game...a team captain...on
defense recorded 43 tackles, had six forced fumbles, three fumble
recoveries and two sacks...helped lead the Vikings to a 9-4 record
and the school’s first-ever appearance in the Division 5 state
semifinals...as a junior, was a first-team all-county and
second-team all-conference performer as an offensive lineman...coach
was Wade Rickmeier...also is an accomplished wrestler...currently
33-1 as senior in the Heavyweight class...2006 state championships
are March 3-4 in Madison...posted a 30-9 mark as a junior in
215-pound class qualifying for Division 2 WIAA championship in
2005...in 2004, was an All-American in Greco-Roman placing fifth in
the National Championships at 215 pounds...won state title in
Greco-Roman as a sophomore (2004) and was third (2005) as a
junior...as a sophomore qualified for the state meet and finished
with 28-11 record...has won more than 100 career matches...was a
three-year team captain...has benched 345 and squatted 395.
PERSONAL: Parents are Rodney
and Nadine Figueroa...father Rodney competed in the 1992 Olympic
Summer Games...he placed 10th in Heavyweight division in freestyle
wrestling in Barcelona...has a brother (Logan) and a sister
