Tim Frost

Tim Frost, a former Penguin
defensive lineman, is in his second season as a member of the YSU coaching
staff. A Youngstown native, Frost works with the tight ends and assists the
offensive coaching staff.
Frost, who was a member of the inaugural Mahoning Valley Thunder
Arena Football 2 franchise in 2007, spent his four years as an assistant
coach at Ursuline High School. He has also worked in various counseling, mentoring and
support roles at Associates in Child Counseling and Guidance, Eagle Flight
Initiative and NORCAT of Meridian Services.
He played defensive end for the Penguins during the 2002
campaign after spending the previous three campaigns at West Virginia. While
with the Mountaineers he played tight end in 2000 and 2001. During his time, he
played for coaches Don Nehlan and Rich Rodriquez. He played in five games in
2001 and all 12 in 2000 as WVU went 7-5 and won the Music City Bowl.
At Ursuline, he was a talented two-way player as
a defensive lineman and tight end. As a senior, he earned first-team all-state,
All-Northeast Ohio and all-city accolades. He attended East High School before
the institution closed and then transferred to Ursuline.
Frost earned his degree in Criminal Justice from Youngstown
State in 2007.
