Men's Golf: Penguins Open Season at BGSU John Piper Meet
    Bowling Green, Ohio -- The Youngstown State men's golf team opened the 2004 fall season with a 12th-place finish at the BGSU John Piper Intercollegiate meet held at Stone Ridge Golf Course. Nate Komsa led the Penguins with a 22nd-place finish.
    As a team, YSU finished with a three-round total of 904 posting rounds of 297, 300 and 307. Marquette won the event with an 852 while Ohio U was second followed by Oakland.
    Komsa had rounds of 70, 74 and 77 to pace the Penguins with a 221 (five-over par). Josh Zarlenga (73-77-77) and Ross Beal (75-77-75) tied for 43rd carding a 227 (11-over). Freshman Ryan McGraw (79-75-78) finished 57th with a 232 while Jim Powers (79-74-82) placed 66th with a 235.
    The Penguins are next in action at the Butler Fall Invitational held Sept. 20-21 in Indianapolis.
