Men's Golf: YSU Places Eighth At Draper Valley Invitational
Draper, Va.
– The Youngstown State men’s golf team finished eighth at the 36-hole Draper
Valley Invitational which concluded on Tuesday. Following Monday's first round,
the Penguins were in third place with a 303, but after carding a 312 on Tuesday,
dropped back to eighth with a 615. Western Carolina won the event with a 582.
The top finisher for the Penguins was Kyle Romig who carded a
two-round total of 152 (72-80). Other finishers for Youngstown State were Nate
Komsa who shot a 153 (77-76) to place 26th, James Powers who carded a 155
(78-77) to place 31st, Josh Zarlenga who had a 156 (76-80) to finish 34th and
Carmen DiPenti who shot a 157 (78-79) to place 38th.
YSU returns to action next Monday and Tuesday when they
compete in Cleveland State's Joe Cole Invitational at Red Tail Golf Course in
Avon, Ohio.
