Men's Golf: YSU Competes at Rain-Shortened EKU Invitational
Richmond, Ky. – The Youngstown State men’s golf team finished 16th at the
rain-shortened EKU Spring Invitational which was cancelled on Saturday morning.
Bad weather that caused the suspension of the second round of the Invitational
on Friday lingered throughout the night and into Saturday morning, forcing the
cancellation of the remaining rounds.
The host Colonels won the event with a 291 while the Penguins
finished with a 327. Leading the way for YSU was Ross Beal who tied for 53rd
with a 79. Other finishers for the Penguins included Carmen DiPenti who was 76th
with an 82, Josh Zarlenga who finished 82nd with a 83 along with teammate Kyle
Romig who also had an 82 and Nate Komsa finished 90th with an 86.
The Penguins return to action on Monday when they compete for
the first time at the Draper Valley Invitational.
