Men's Golf: Penguins Begin Spring Campaign at Ft. Lauderdale
Fort Lauderdale, Fla. -- The Youngstown State men's
golf team opened the spring portion of its schedule with a fifth-place finish at
the six-team Fort Lauderdale Spring Classic which concluded on Friday at the
Grande Oaks Golf Course.
The Penguins had a two-round score of 635 after posting
rounds of 319 and 316. Gonzaga won the event with a 589.
Youngstown State's top finisher was Josh Zarlenga who tied
for 14th with a 154 (78-76). Carmen DiPenti placed 18th with a 156 (84-72), Nate
Komsa tied for 19th carding a 157 (79-78), Ross Beal tied for 27th with a 162
(80-82), Ryan McGraw finished 30th with a 163 (85-78), Kyle Romig was 31st with
a 164 (82-82), Jeff Dolphin was 36th carding a 168 (87-81) and Jim Powers was
29th with a 171 (91-80).
YSU returns to action on April 1 when the begin competition
at the Eastern Kentucky Spring Invitational.
