Men's Golf: Komsa, Zarlenga Place in Top 10 At HL Championships

Komsa placed ninth and junior Josh Zarlenga tied for 10th at the 2005 Horizon
League Men's Golf Championships which concluded on Tuesday at Royal American
Links Golf Course. Komsa finished with a three-round score of 225, while
Zarlenga was one-shot back with a 226.
In the team race, Detroit won the event with an 891 placing
six strokes in front of Wright State. UW-Green Bay was third, Cleveland State
placed fourth, Butler was fifth while YSU finished sixth and Loyola was seventh.
YSU finished with a three-round score of 935 to finish six strokes in front of
the Ramblers. The Penguins had rounds of 315, 307 and 313 during the tournament.
Komsa shot a 78 on the final day to go with rounds of 76 and
71 from Monday while Zarlenga had a 75 after rounds of 78 and 73 on Monday.
Cleveland State's Doug Barber won the event by three strokes with a 216.
Other Penguin finishers included Ross Beal who tied for 29th
with a 238 (78-80-80), Ryan McGraw who was 34th with a 246 (83-83-80) and Jim
Powers who was 35th with a 261 (89-87-85). |
