10th at Rain-Shortened Season Opener
Cleveland,
Ohio -- Junior Ryan McGraw placed
18th to lead the Youngstown State
men's golf team to a 10th-place
finish at the rain-shortened
Cleveland State Invitational.
McGraw fired rounds of 76 and 78 before YSU's season-opening
meet was called Tuesday morning
because of rain on the Sand Ridge
Golf Course. McGraw finished eight
shots behind Eastern Michigan's
Chris Ross, who shot a three over
par 146.
McGraw was 13th after the first round, but he lost two
strokes on the second day to fall
back in the pack. The other four
Penguins combined to shoot 15
strokes better on the second day.
Sophomore Ryan Stocke tied McGraw on the second day to finish
29th with a 159 (81-78) total, and
Tim Morrow carded a two-round score
of 169 (86-83) to finish 47th. Jim
Powers and Ross Beal tied for 51st
with a score of 174.
The Penguins will compete at the John Piper Intercollegiate
