Men’s Golf: Penguins Place 14th at Eastern Kentucky Spring Invitational
Richmond, Ky. -- The
Youngstown State men’s golf team
placed 14th at the 15-team Eastern
Kentucky Spring Invitational which
concluded on Saturday. The Penguins
had a three-round score of 916 while
Eastern Kentucky won the event with
an 837.
YSU had rounds of 296, 308 and 312
during the event. Following the
first round, the Guins were tied for
seventh and were tied for 12th at
the conclusion of round two. Wright
State was the only other Horizon
League team participate in the event
and finished 11th with an 899.
The top individual finisher for YSU
was Ryan Stocke who tied for 55th
place carding a three-round total of
227 (71-76-80). Stocke was tied for
33rd after the second round.
Jim Powers placed 57th with a 228
(79-74-75), Ryan McGraw was 68th
with a 232 (70-83-79), Ross Beal
came in 72nd place with a 233
(76-75-82) and Kyle Romig was 82nd
with a 241 (79-84-78). McGraw's 70
after the first round put him in a
tie for fourth place on the
leaderboard.
The Penguins return to action at the
Wiscon Corp. Invitational on April
16-17.
