Jim Powers Places Ninth at Poplar

Va. -- Senior Jim Powers placed
ninth at the Poplar Hill
Intercollegiate helping the
Youngstown State men's golf team to
a seventh-place team finish at the
event held at Poplar Hill Golf Club.
YSU posted a three-round score of
956 (325-313-318) in the tournament
hosted by Longwood University.
Kennesaw State ran away with the
team title carding a three-round 911
while Longwood was second at 925. A
total of 12 teams completed all
three rounds.
Powers had rounds of 82, 72 and 76
to finish with a 230. Ryan Alpeter
(79-82-83) and Ross Beal (78-79-87)
tied for 30th carding identical
244's. Junior Ryan McGraw finished
32nd with a 245 (86-80-79) while
freshman Tim Morrow placed 40th with
a 250 (86-84-80).
The tournament was the final fall competition for the men's
