Seventh at Rex Chaney Eagle Classic
Morehead,
Ky. -- The Youngstown State
men's golf team placed seventh out
of eight teams at the Rex Chaney
Eagle Classic which concluded on
Tuesday at Eagle Trace Golf Course.
The Penguins finished with a
three-round score of 913 after
finishing with rounds of 308, 310
and 295. Morehead State won the
event with an 854 while Southern
Illinois placed second three shots
behind. The top
team finishers for YSU were
sophomore Ryan Stocke and freshman
Eric Augustus who tied 36th with
229. Stocke had rounds of 78, 78 and
73 in the event while Augustus shot
a 79, 72 and 78.
Senior Jim Powers placed 39th with a
230 after carding rounds of 75, 81
and 74. Junior Ryan McGraw was 41st
with a 231 (76-79-76) and freshman
Jon Hamarik was 45th carding a 234
(80-82-72).
Sophomore Ryan
Alpeter competed as an individual
and was the Guins' top placer.
Alpeter had a score of 226
(77-70-79) to tie for 31st placed.
Youngstown State concludes its fall
campaign at the Poplar Hill
Intercollegiate on Oct. 23-24.
