Men’s Golf: Guins Place Fifth, Stocke Finishes 14th at Wiscon
Corporation Invitational

Ill. -- The
Youngstown State men’s golf team
placed fifth at the Wiscon
Corporation Invitational hosted by
Loyola on Monday and Tuesday.
Leading the Penguins was sophomore
Ryan Stocke who placed 14th with a
three-round 226.
In the team race, Western Illinois
finished first with a three-round
score of 873. YSU had rounds of 298,
312 and 304 to finish with a 914 for
the tournament and place one shot
ahead of Chicago State for fifth
place. The Penguins were tied for
third after the opening round on
Monday.
Stocke finished with rounds of 76,
74 and 76 to lead the Guins.
Freshman Tim Morrow was the
second-lowest YSU finisher placing
26th with a 232. Morrow had rounds
of 74, 80 and 78, including earning
one of four eagles during the entire
event.
Other finishers for the Penguins
included Ryan Alpeter who was 29th
with a 234 (79-81-74), Ross Beal who
placed 39th with a 236 (71-77-88)
and senior Jim Powers who came in
40th with a 237 (77-84-76).
The Penguins return to action at the
Dayton Spring Invitational beginning
on Monday, April 23.
