Men’s Golf: Ross Beal Tabbed HL Golfer of the Week

Youngstown State senior men's golfer
Ross Beal was named the Horizon
League's Golfer of the Week, the
conference announced on Wednesday.
Beal, a native of Uniontown, Ohio,
had two outstanding top-five
performances over the previous two
weeks.
In his most recent outing, he
carded a school-record 63 during the
final round of the IPFW Classic and
finished with a school-record
three-round score of 196 to win by
nine shots. It was the first
individual victory for the Penguins
since Nate Komsa won the Horizon
League Championship in 2004.
Beal had rounds of 65 and 68 on
Monday and finished with a
tournament-low tying round of 63 on
Tuesday. Beal had 25 birdies during
the tournament finishing with a
17-under-par total for the event.
In his previous tournament at the
John Dallio Memorial in Chicago he
placed fourth. Beal finished with a
three-round total of 219 with rounds
of 74, 71 and 74. |
