Men’s Golf: Stocke
Named to Horizon All-League Team;
Turner All-Tournament

-- For the second straight year, YSU
junior men’s golfer Ryan Stocke (Elida,
Ohio) was named First-Team
All-Horizon League, while freshman
Michael Turner (Baden, Pa.) was
named to the All-Tournament Team
after his sixth-place finish at the
HL Championships, the league
announced on Tuesday.
This season for the Guins, Stocke
competed in all the events the team
has participated in. Stocke played
in 34 rounds, had a total of 2,480
strokes in those events, and his
season average was a team-low
72.9. His season-low round was a 68
at IPFW Fall Classic. He joins Nate
Komsa as the only two Penguins to
earn Horizon League honors twice in
a career.
Joining Stocke on the All-League
Team were Cleveland State golfers
Doug Barber and Jake Scott,
Detroit’s David Byrne and Mark
Sommerfeld, Green Bay golfer Travis
Meyer, Armando Favela from Loyola,
and Wright State’s Tyler Miskell.
Turner earned a spot on the Horizon
League All-Tournament team after
finishing his freshman season with
an impressive sixth-place finish at
the Horizon League
Championships. Turner’s three-round
total at the event was a 223
(75-74-74).
