Men’s Golf: YSU Signs Two Local Standouts to Program

    Youngstown State Men’s Golf Coach Tony Joy announced Thursday that Zack Humphries of Ursuline High School and Michael Lower of Boardman High School have signed National Letters of Intent to become part of the program.

    In 2007, Humphries helped Ursuline capture the Steel Valley Conference Championship while advancing to state championships.  As a team Ursuline placed in fourth in the Division II meet while Humphries placed in 17th.
    A second-team All-Northeast Ohio selection as a senior, he also contributed to Ursuline’s state run in 2005 where the team placed 10th. His coach at Ursuline was Joe Metzinger.
    Lower placed third in the Federal League Boys Golf Tournament as a senior this past fall. He was also named First-Team All-Federal League.
