Women's Golf: Penguins Finish Second, Wyderka Places Fourth
Indianapolis, Ind. -- Youngstown State freshman
women's golfer Mallory Wyderka (Olmstead Falls, Ohio) picked up her second
straight top-five finish placing fourth at the Butler Fall Invitational to help
lead the Penguins to a second-place overall finish in the six-team event.
Wyderka had a three-round score of 237 (80-79-78) to place
four strokes behind medalist Cleveland State's Kristen Obush (233). Butler took
top team honors with a three-round total of 952. The Penguins carded a 974
(319-324-331) at the tournament which concluded on Tuesday at the Eagle Creek
Golf Course.
Senior Gina Abruzzino placed sixth carding a 241 (80-80-81)
giving the Penguins two top-five finishers. Brittany Jones finished 14th with a
247 (78-87-82), Bonnie Sherman was 15th firing a 250 (82-78-90) and Felicia
Ciotola finished 25th with a 266 (81-87-98).
