Women's Golf: Abruzzino Second, YSU Third at CSU Invite
Chesterland, Ohio -- Senior
YSU women's golfer Gina Abruzzino finished second, one shot of the pace, while
the Penguins finished third at the Cleveland State Golf Invitational which
concluded on Tuesday.
Abruzzino had a score of 155, posting rounds of 77 and 78,
but came up one shot short to Oakland's Patricia Ellsworth who had a 154,
including an invitational-low 74 on Tuesday.
As a team, YSU had a two-round total of 666, finishing 22
strokes behind Oakland and one shot behind second-place Butler. The Penguins
finished behind the Bulldogs by 22 strokes at the Butler Fall Invitational
earlier this fall season.
Freshman Mallory Wyderka carded a 164 (82-82) finishing
eighth, freshman Brittany Jones had a 173 (88-85) placing 12th, sophomore Bonnie
Sherman had a 175 (91-84) to finish 13th overall.
Freshman Felicia Ciotola was 19th with a 177 (92-85)
competing as an individual.
The Penguins conclude fall action on Oct. 23-24 at the
Buckell Lady Bison Invitational.
