Women's Golf: Jones Places Sixth; YSU Fifth at Cincinnati Fall Classic
Batavia, Ohio -- Sophomore Brittany Jones carded the
lowest round of the day and second lowest of the tournament en route to a
sixth-place individual finish at the Cincinnati Fall Classic which concluded on
Tuesday at Elks Run Golf Club.
Jones had a 74 tying Toledo's Kim Kester for the low round on
Tuesday. Following an 81 on Monday, Jones finished tied for sixth with a
two-round total of 155. Cincinnati's Hillery Wilson won the event by one stroke
with a 151.
In the team race, the Penguins placed fifth with a 36-hole
score of 666. Toledo won the event with a 615, while Bradley was second (630)
and Cincinnati was third (639).
Other finishers for Youngstown State included sophomore
Adrianna DiLonardo who was 28th with a 172 (89-83), junior Bonnie Sherman who
was also 28th with a 172 (86-86), sophomore Kristen Albrecht who placed 33rd
with a 176 (87-89) and Felicia Ciotola who rebounded to finish 35th with a 177
(97-80).
The Penguins have
now concluded the fall portion of their schedule and will resume competition in
March.
