Women's Golf: DiLonardo, YSU Place Third at IPFW Fall Classic
Auburn, Ind. -- The Youngstown State women's golf team
charged to a third-place finish at
the nine-team IPFW Fall Classic,
which was completed on Tuesday at
Deer Creek Golf Course. Sophomore
Adrianna DiLonardo had her best
finish as a Penguin tying three
individuals for third place.
DiLonardo carded a three-round 229 (76-77-76) tying Oakland's
Trish Ellsworth and Cleveland
State's Kristen Obush for third.
Butler's Lynnsey Showers was first
with a 226 while Detroit's Mandi
Dupuis was second with a 228.
The Penguins placed third in the team competition with a
three-round total of 950
(316-323-311). Butler won the event
with a 921 while Oakland was second
with a 937. YSU was 11 strokes
behind Loyola to start the third
round, but shot 25 strokes better
than the Ramblers on Tuesday.
Sophomore Brittany Jones cracked the top 10 finishing 10th.
Jones had a three-round score of 235
(79-81-75). Sophomore Felicia
Ciotola placed 13th with a 237
(79-80-78), junior Bonnie Sherman
was 28th with a 252 (82-85-85) and
freshman Mollie Boney was 33rd with
a 256 (85-89-82).
Youngstown State returns to action on Oct. 24-25 at the
Cincinnati Invitational.
