Women's Golf: Albrecht Finishes One Stroke Off Pace, YSU Comes In Third
Warren, Ohio -- Sophomore Kristen Albrecht was among a
group of four individuals to finish
second, just one shot behind
Oakland's Christina Cibrario in the
final round of the YSU/Taco Bell
Golf Invitational which concluded on
Tuesday at Avalon South Golf Course.
Cibrario was four shots behind the first-round leaders before
carding a 75 and rallying for the
victory with a total of 153 for the
event. Albrecht, Bowling Green's
Kari Liggett and Jessica McCann and
Oakland's Stacey Goins all tied for
second with 154's.
In the team race, Bowling Green held off Oakland finishing
with a two-round total of 615 while
the Golden Grizzlies had a 623. YSU
was third with a 641 while St.
Francis (Pa.) was fourth (650),
Detroit was fifth (653), IPFW was
sixth (662), Cleveland State placed
seventh (663), Walsh was eighth
(672), Robert Morris was ninth (678)
and Mercyhurst was 10th (697).
Albrecht had a 154 for the event carding rounds of 75 and 79
on Monday and Tuesday. Other YSU
finishers were Bonnie Sherman who
placed ninth as an individual with a
156, sophomore Brittany Jones placed
10th with a 157 (77-80), sophomore
Felicia Ciotola carded a 165
(87-78), sophomore Adrianna
DiLonardo tied for 30th with a 166
(80-86), freshman Amanda Brindley
placed 38th with a 171 (84-87) and
freshman Mollie Boney was 41st with
a 174 (86-88). |
