Golf: Brittany Jones Paces Penguins to Fourth-Place Finish at Bucknell Fall
Classic
Lewisburg, Pa. -- Junior Brittany Jones finished sixth
as the Youngstown State women's golf
team tied for fourth place at the
17-team Bucknell Fall Classic which
concluded on Sunday.
The Penguins finished with a
two-round score of 665 (333-332) to
place fourth along with Rutgers.
Bucknell won the event with a 632,
Lehigh was second, one shot behind,
and Siena came in third at 641.
Jones led the way for the second
straight event placing an impressive
sixth out of 87 competitors. Jones
had rounds of 80 and 77 to finish
with a 157. Bucknell's Teri Schlang
took medalist honors with a 151.
Freshman Brittany Stillwagon was the
Guins' second-best finisher coming
in 24th place with a 167 (87-80).
Junior Felicia Ciotola was 33rd with
a 172 (87-85), sophomore Mollie
Boney placed 38th with a 174 (81-93)
and senior Bonnie Sherman was 41st
carding a 175 (85-90).
The Penguins are next in action at
the Detroit Titans Invitational
which is scheduled for Oct. 9-10.
