Women's Golf: Brittany Jones Finishes 10th At Detroit Titan Invitational
Redford, Mich. -- Junior Brittany Jones finished in
the top 10 for the second
consecutive tournament as the
Youngstown State women's golf team
placed fifth at the seven-team
Detroit Titans Invitational which
concluded on Tuesday at Western Golf
and Country Club.
Jones placed 10th after carding
rounds of 85 and 80 to finish with a
two-round score of 165. Her round of
80 on Tuesday was the sixth lowest
of the day. She placed sixth at the
Bucknell Invitational during the
Guins' last outing.
YSU had two teams participate in the
event. The first team placed fifth
with a 683 while the second team was
seventh with a 719. Oakland won the
event with a 645, while Detroit was
second with a 655.
Junior Adrianna DiLonardo finished
16th with a 169 (84-85), freshman
Brittany Stillwagon was 18th with a
170 (86-84), sophomore Mollie Boney
was 31st carding a 179 (89-90) and
sophomore Amanda Brindley was 39th
with a 190 (97-93).
YSU's other squad was led by senior
Bonnie Sherman who was 21st firing a
two-round 172 (83-89). Freshman
Reagan O'Brien was 37th with a 185,
junior Felicia Ciotola placed 38th
with a 186 and Alison Straub was
41st with a 219.
The Penguins are next in action at
the IPFW Fall Classic on Oct. 16-17.
