Golf: Penguins Open Season With Triangular Defeat to Detroit, Loyola
Ocala, Fla. -- Juniors Brittany Jones and Adrianna
DiLonardo posted strong scores, but
the YSU women's golf team lost a
triangular against Detroit and
Loyola in their spring opener which
concluded on Saturday at Red Trail
Country Club.
The Penguins carded a two-round
total of 665 finishing behind
Detroit (633) and Loyola (649). The
Penguins and Ramblers were tied
following Friday's first round at
325.
Jones finished with a team-best
performance of 161 carding rounds of
80 and 81. DiLonardo was one stroke
behind Jones carding a 162 (78-84).
Freshman Brittany Stillwagon had 172 (84-88), senior Bonnie
Sherman had a 173 (86-87) and
sophomore Mollie Boney finished with
a two-round 180 (83-97). Junior
Felicia Ciotola had a 167 (80-87)
competing as an individual.
The Penguins are next in action on
Monday and Tuesday at the
North/South Intercollegiate in
Florida.
