Women's Golf: Penguins Place Third at Six-Team Grand Valley Invitational
St. Cloud, Fla. -- In their first effort of the Spring
season, the Youngstown State women's
golf team placed third at the
six-team Grand Valley Invitational
at the Royal St. Cloud Golf Course
in St. Cloud, Fla.
The Penguins shot a two-round 635 to
finish third behind Grand Valley
State and Detroit. YSU shot 325 on
the first day and improved to 310
the second afternoon. Grand Valley
carded a 6-2 while Detroit shot a
612.
Leading the way for the Penguins was freshman Katie Rogner.
Rogner shot a 153 finishing with
rounds of 78 and 75. Senior Adrianna
DiLonardo had a 162 (81-81), junior Mollie
Boney had a 163 (86-77), senior
Brittany Jones fired a 164 (87-77)
and senior Felicia Ciotola had a 165
(80-85).
YSU resumes action on Monday and
Tuesday at the North-South
Intercollegiate in Jacksonville,
Fla. The tournament, which is hosted
by Butler, is being held at the
Jacksonville Beach Golf Club.
