Women's Golf: Stillwagon, Formeck Named to NGCA Scholar Athlete Team
Coral Spring, Fla. -- The Youngstown State women's golf program had two student-athletes named to the National Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Team the organization announced today. Junior Brittany Stillwagon (Bloomingdale, Ohio) and freshman Samantha Formeck (Northern Cambria, Pa.) were among a group of 410 Division I, II and III women's golfers named to the NGCA team. Overall nearly 275 Division I athletes were selected.
Stillwagon, who finished second at the 2009 Horizon League Championships, has a 3.64 grade-point average as an electrical engineering major. Formeck, who took home medalist honors at the Horizon League Championships as a freshman, posted two perfect 4.0 semesters her first year as a chemistry major.
The criteria for selection to the All-America Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in college athletics. The minimum grade-point average is 3.50 and student-athletes must have competed in at least 50 percent of the school's regular scheduled competitive rounds during the year.

The National Golf Coaches Association, founded in 1983, is a non-profit organization representing women’s collegiate golf coaches. Today, the NGCA represents nearly 500 coaches throughout the U.S. and is dedicated to educating, promoting and recognizing both its members and the student-athletes they represent.
