Soccer: YSU Drops Match to Butler,
3-1
Youngstown -- The
Youngstown State Soccer team dropped
their Horizon League opener on
Friday afternoon to Butler 3-1 at
Stambaugh Stadium. The score
remained tied late in the game, but
Butler’s Martha Gudiel scored her
second goal of the game with 3:25
remaining to lead the Bulldogs to
victory.
YSU’s Kara White scored the Penguins only goal of the
game in the first half on a penalty
kick. Senior goalkeeper Christine
Handte collected ten saves for the
Penguins. Butler outshot YSU 29-7
and outcorned the Penguins 4-0. |
