Soccer:
YSU Gets Victory Over Canisius 3-1
Akron, Ohio -- The Youngstown State Soccer
team snapped their 21-game losing
streak Saturday afternoon defeating
Canisius 3-1 in the consolation
match at the Caroline Pardee
Invitational.
Youngstown State’s Kara White and Jenny Jacobs each had goals
and the Penguins took advantage of
an own goal scored by Canisius en
route to the victory. The Penguins
defense was solid allowing only two
shots. YSU had 15 shots and
outcornered the Griffs 8-4.
YSU trailed 1-0 at halftime on a goal by Canisius’ Lisa
Holakowski.
The Penguins last win was on October 27 beating Robert Morris
1-0. YSU returns to action on Friday
when they play at Idaho State. |
