YSU Soccer Suffers Loss to Idaho State 5-0
Pocatello, Idaho --
The Youngstown State soccer team
suffered their second loss of the
season on Friday night when they
fell to Idaho State 5-0 in the
Bengal Classic Tournament.
The Penguins kept the scored tied at 0-0 through
the first 22 minutes of the game,
but Idaho States Stacy Peterson
broke the barrier scoring off an
assist from Jenna Jones. The
Bengals would then dominate the rest
of the match scoring two goals
within the span of 2:05 in the
second half.
Idaho State outshot the Penguins 25-7 and
outcornered YSU 4-1. Senior
goalkeeper Christine Handte had six
saves while allowing five goals.
The Penguins will play Weber State at 1 p.m. on
Sunday. |
