Soccer: Penguins Lose to
VCU, 4-0
Youngstown, Ohio --
VCU’s Jen Parson scored three goals
to lead the Rams to a 4-0 victory
over the Youngstown State soccer
team during first day of play at the
Third Annual Penguin Cup on Friday
at Stambaugh Stadium.
Parson scored two goals in the first half and added her third
score early in the second half.
Genevieve Tremblay added the Rams’
other goal at 22:30 of the first
half.
With the victory, VCU improves to 3-2-1 on the season while
the Penguins fall to 1-5. YSU
freshman goalkeeper Mia Railing made
five saves playing in the second
half. YSU’s Christine Handte had
three saves. VCU outshot the
Penguins 21-4 and outcornered YSU
2-1.
The Penguins play Howard at 3 p.m. on Sunday on the final day
of Penguin Cup action. |
