Soccer: Penguins Sign Canadian Goalkeeper
Youngstown -- Youngstown
State Soccer Coach Liz Bartley
announced on Thursday that Caitlin
Bestard of Sarnia, Ontario, has
signed a National Letter of Intent
to play for the Penguins.
Bestard, a standout goalkeeper at Northern Collegiate
High School, posted a 0.75
goals-against average and posted 15
shutouts last season.
Bartley said Bestard will have the chance to step in
and be YSU's top keeper as a
freshman.
"She reads a game really well," Bartley said. "I look
to have her be a major force in the
goal for us this year and in the
years to come."
Bestard will be one of three keepers trying to fill the
vacancy left in goal by four-year
starter Christine Handte. |
