Soccer: Penguins Drop Match to Idaho
State, 4-0
Tucson, Ariz. --
The Youngstown State Women's Soccer team fell to
1-10 on the season after losing to
Idaho State University in the second
round of the Arizona Tournament on
Sunday morning at Murphey Stadium.
Idaho State's Stacey Peterson scored the Bengals first goal
36 seconds into the match off an
assist from Stephanie Anderson.
The Penguin defense held Idaho State
for 52 minutes before the Bengals
took over with three unanswered
goals to bring the
final score to 4-0.
Idaho State outshot YSU 26-1 and outcornered the Penguins
7-0. Freshman keeper Caitlin
Bestard collected eight saves for
Youngstown State.
The Penguins open up a six game home stand on Wednesday, Oct.
9, when they play host to Howard
University at 3 p.m. at Stambaugh
Stadium.
