Soccer: Penguins Battle, Fall Short to Niagara, 5-1
Youngstown --
Niagara's Rosie Luzak and Brittany
Younglove scored two goals each to
lead Niagara to a 5-1 victory over
the Youngstown State Soccer team on
Sunday afternoon at Stambaugh
Stadium.
Luzak scored her first goal of the contest at 2:27 and added
her second goal at 26:25.
Younglove scored Niagara's third
goal of the game at 37:13 off a
cross from Tania Desmarais and
scored the Purple Eagles fourth goal
at 49:35
Sophomore Diane Fellabaum scored the Penguins lone goal of
the contest at 63:36.
Niagara outshot Youngstown State 20-15, but the Penguins held
the edge on corner kicks 3-1.
With the loss the Penguins fall to
1-16 on the season. Niagara
improves to 11-4-1 with the win.
The Penguins return to league action on Friday, Nov. 1, when
they travel to Chicago to play
Loyola at 4 p.m. |
