Soccer: Penguins Fall to UWGB 1-0
Youngstown --
The Youngstown State women's soccer
team fell to the UWGB Phoenix 1-0 on
a rainy and windy afternoon at
Stambaugh Stadium.
At the 38:28 mark in the first half, UWGB's Sarah Oligney
scored on a breakaway off an assist
from Catherine Kadar for the lone
goal of the contest.
The Phoenix outshot the Penguins 28-6 and outcornered YSU
10-0. Penguin goalkeeper
Caitlin Bestard recorded nine saves
while Jessica Yarter and Katie
Bollinger each took two shots.
With the loss, YSU drops to 1-12 overall and 0-3 in the
Horizon League. The Phoenix
improve to 4-6-2, 1-0-2.
The Penguins continue their six-game home stand on Friday
against Akron at 4 p.m. |
