Soccer: Raiders beat Penguins, 7-1
Dayton, OH -- The
Youngstown State Women's Soccer team
dropped a 7-1 decision to Horizon
League foe Wright State on Sunday
afternoon at Alumni Field.
Freshman Maura Patton scored the Penguins lone goal and her
fifth of the season at 80:36 off an
assist from junior Kara White.
The Raiders outshot
the Penguins 30-9 and outcornered
YSU 13-1. Freshman keeper
Caitlin Bestard recorded 11 saves
for the Penguins.
With the loss, Youngstown State falls to 1-8 overall and 0-2
in the Horizon League. Wright State
improves to 3-6 with the win.
The Penguins return to action on Friday, Oct. 4, when they
travel to Tucson, Ariz. for the
University of Arizona Tournament.
The Penguins will play Arizona on
Friday at 9:30 p.m. eastern time.
