Jugenheimer Guides Penguins Past Hornets

Junior Kim Jugenheimer set a school single-game record with four goals and nine points while senior Katie Bollinger and sophomore Jessica Yarter each added three to help lead the Youngstown State soccer team to a 17-0 victory over Delaware State on Friday afternoon at Stambaugh Stadium.
    The Penguins scored 10 goals in the first half and tallied seven more in the second to break the previous school record of 14 set last year. 
    Freshman Corey Cardone contributed two goals and three assists, while Kara White, Hannah Lawther, Erin Moehle, Laura Mauer and Maddie Lawther each added one goal for Youngstown State.

    The Penguins outshot the Hornets 53-1 and outcornered DSU 10-1.  With the win the Penguins snapped their 21-game losing streak and improved their record to 1-3 on the season.  With the loss Delaware State drops to 0-2.
    The Penguins conclude their four game home stand on Friday, Sept. 12,  when they play host to Louisville at 3 p.m. at Stambaugh Stadium.
