Penguins Fall Short to Duquesne, 3-0

Duquesne's Lauren Bracco scored two
goals and Christine Goodfellow added
one as Duquesne defeated the
Youngstown State soccer team 3-0 on
Wednesday night at Stambaugh
Stadium.
Bracco scored the Dukes first goal with one minute remaining
in the first half of a corner kick
from Caitlin Holmes and added her
second goal late in the second half
at 78:53. Goodfellow scored
the second goal of the match at
47:18.
The Dukes outshot the Penguins, 20-8 and outcornered YSU,
9-0. Junior keeper Mia Railing
collected eight saves for Youngstown
State.
With the loss, the Penguins drop to 0-3 on the season and
Duquesne improves to 2-0-1 with the
win.
The Penguins return to action on Friday, Sept. 5, when they
play host to Delaware State at 3
p.m. at Stambaugh Stadium.
Last year the Penguins beat Delaware
State 14-0. |
